VMXpo 2014 on October 7th at the AT&T Conference Center in Austin, TX. 

In conjunction with DELL MEDICAL, we have added a whole section to VMXpo targeted at healthcare in the afternoon sessions, culminated by a healthcare CIO roundtable at 3:00pm. Several prominent CIOs will be discussing the key issues today that face healthcare in IT, especially as it pertains to desktop virtualization. You can come and stay all day, or come after lunch for the healthcare specific sessions.Here are more details:

PANELISTS:

Todd Thomas is the Chief Information Officer for the Austin Radiological Association MSO, LLC (ARA), a specialty health care organization offering a complete range of medical imaging services throughout central Texas. Prior to joining ARA, Todd was a software programmer for Medaphis Physician Services Corporation where he developed interfaces to multiple healthcare applications. With over 20 years of healthcare IT experience, his technical leadership has garnered ARA multiple technology awards from IT publications.  

 

 

george_suarezGeorge Suarez, CIO of CommuniCare Health Centers. CommuniCare Health Centers is a full-service primary healthcare system serving in both Bexar and Hays counties. They offer an array of services including pediatric medicine, family medicine, senior care, women's health, podiatry, dental, behavioral health, minor surgery clinic, WIC services, vision care and pediatric speech therapy. They deliver care through nine (9) clinic locations utilizing integrative primary care practice, highly trained healthcare providers, state of the art diagnostic equipment, and electronic health records.

In addition to being CEO of Whitehat Virtual Technologies, Val is also CIO for Val Verde Regional Medical Center (VVRMC) in Del Rio, TX. As part of that position, Val has guided VVRMC as they completely rebuild their IT infrastructure and move into the 21st century. The hospital is a McKesson Paragon user, and Val has dealt with all the technical, political and compliance issues that come as part of implementing this type of EMR solution. Because of this dual role, he is uniquely position to understand both the business and IT aspects of healthcare in the U.S. today. Val does not sleep much.
